Outages♯
Occasionally, Picotte will be unavailable, for example due to planned maintenance or unforeseen circumstances (such as power outages or cooling failures).
Communication of Outages♯
All our communication about outages happens via the Picotte users mailing list, which we subscribe you to when creating your Picotte account.
Planned outages are scheduled and announced in advance.
During unplanned outages, we try our best to keep you updated about Picotte's status. That said, outages are dynamic and challenging situations, we're a small team, and we have to carefully balance our efforts between communicating about an outage and working to resolve it. For all these reasons, we can't make any specific guarantees about the frequency of updates during an unplanned outage.
Alternatives♯
If you have important computing needs that can't wait for Picotte to be back up, we recommend checking out the ACCESS program, which provides advanced computing resources at no cost to researchers and educators.
To get started, register an account and request a project here. You can also browse the clusters that are available on ACCESS to find something that meets your needs.
